This is basically our first taste of the fantastic weather of the Pacific Northwest, which unfortunately we only got to experience after we sent our cold weather riding clothes home. We’ll call it an extra incentive to get south ASAP.
Anyways, we are waiting out the weather with some good beer at the BARNACLE BISTRO in Gold Beach, OR.
Big ups to all the homeboys and homegirls from India we saw at HUMBUG MOUNTAIN last night; hope they didn’t die riding their bikes down the coast.
Also, if Josh and Anna sees this, you will never fucking catch us.
If the signs are true, then logging really supports and is the lifeblood of communities and families of the Pacific Northwest. My question is, if logging is really so supportive of families and communities, then why are so many logging towns so fucking shitty and destitute?
The reality of it is that every single logging town we rode through was completely economically ruined, in addition to being surrounded by clearcut old growth forests that increase the ambient temperature.
We are in Anacortes, had a great time yesterday with Sindi, Ellen, and Nick. Gonna get loaded up today/tomorrow and then hit Orcas Island.
We are flying out on Weds morning, starting the tour on Friday or Saturday. I’ll start taking copious amounts of photos and posting them on here, with commentary.
